Story Behind the Name ,"Exile Creations"

Exile Creations, a fitting name born from the heart of our story, was founded by two Tibetan visionaries as a haven for young Tibetan artisans who fled their homeland and now live in exile in India. Following significant political upheavals in the year 1959 in Tibet, thousands of Tibetans sought refuge in India, where they continue to preserve their culture while building new lives. "Exile Creations" symbolizes their journey of resilience and creativity. Each piece we craft embodies the spirit of these artisans, transforming their challenging experiences into beautiful, unique designs that resonate globally. Our name reflects our commitment to empowering these talented individuals and celebrating the transformative power of creativity in the face of adversity

Initially, Exile Creations was founded with the aim of providing sustainable employment opportunities for Tibetan youth, most of whom who left their families in Tibet and were surviving alone in India. Over time, our mission expanded to include young people from remote villages with very limited job opportunities, marginalized communities, and differently abled individuals. Today, our diverse workforce is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. Since our inception, we have trained and provided employment to around 150 artisans from the Tibetan community and 25 artisans from the larger community. As of today, 28 artisans earn their livelihoods as part of the Exile Creations family.
